Guns and Family Court Redux

Since the Democrats devoted more time to gun control than they did to ISIS at their Tuesday debate, it seems appropriate to follow up on last week’s blog post on the Oregon massacre.
When I started this blog on MLK Day I stated that it was devoted to a child’s right to equal access to parents after divorce. Later posts referred to the fact that fathers and “less-well connected mothers” are given short-shrift in family courts across the country.
The above link is to a CNN story regarding perhaps the most famous woman in American history falling into the latter category.
After reading it one can only wonder if this tragedy could have been prevented if California courts had a clear-cut default of at least 30-40% time share as some states have recently legislated. After all, for 40 years we’ve had “no-fault” divorce. Isn’t it time for no-fault child custody?
