Hello world!

Kids Magna Carta is a new blog dedicated to the principle of shared parenting.  We believe that it follows directly from the 14th Amendment to the US Constitution, The Equal Protection Clause.  We also believe that the family court system, as it presently functions, is the greatest obstacle to a child’s inalienable right to have both parents in their life.

Kids Magna Carta was chosen as a name to give both a historical and global context.

We believe that the principle of shared parenting is as important today as limitations on the monarchy’s power was almost 800 years ago.

In addition, many of us see a strong parallel between our struggle and the earlier battles against racial segregation in the US and apartheid in South Africa.  For that reason we would like to begin the blog with a 1964 quote from Martin Luther King:

“True compassion is more than flinging coins to a beggar…  it

understands that an edifice which produces beggars needs

restructuring.”
